Powder Bathroom Reveal!

It’s finally here - reveal week of the One Room Challenge! This bathroom absolutely kicked my butt, from the new skills to photographing such a small, dark space; but I’m so proud of how this room came out and am so happy to have another room in our home done.

What a change! Our original powder bath was dated and had no personality. But after eight weeks of hard work, new skills and lots of hustling, we were able to completely transform the space. From traditional checkerboard marble floors, to new fixtures and a vanity, there isn’t a piece of this room that wasn’t redone. While the style won’t be everyones cup of tea, it’s the perfect aesthetic for our traditional, colonial home.

A few of our missing pieces.

Sadly, due to shipping delays, not everything made it into this room in time for our reveal. We’re still missing our toilet paper holder, towel holder and miscellaneous decor - however, we got the majority of it in, so let’s look at the details!

Welcome to

Murphy Lane

If you’re new here – welcome! I’m Makenzie and this is Murphy Lane, a place where my fiancé, Matt, and I share everything from DIY renovations to simple decor hacks to help you love the home you’re in. We are currently DIYing our way through a full gut renovation in our Powder Bath for the one room challenge. We can’t wait to show you what we have in store for this space!

Hopefully once all of our proper decor and the remaining tasks are finished up (and I’m not rushing off to my bachelorette trip) I’ll be able to take some more/better reveal pictures for you all!

Room Sources

Participating in the One Room Challenge was such a fun way to get involved in this incredible community and push myself both in my DIY skillset and design. I can’t wait to join in on the fun again this spring. Stay tuned because I have so many fun projects planned for 2023!

Don’t forget to check in on all of the other designers and guest participants - we’ve all been working so hard on our spaces and your support makes all the difference.
